APD Tax / Air Passenger Duty
Air Passenger Duty is a tax that is added to your airfare depending on how far you are flying from London and what class you fly. Countries are placed into different bandsaccording to the distance from london to that countries capital. It is objected to by the travel industry and some airlines like Virgin. Some passengers get round the tax by taking a short flight to Holland and then taking their long haul from there.
