Annapurna
Annapurna is the most treacherous and rarely climbed mountain in the Himalayas- 10th highest in the world. The region however offers some of the best trekking in the world.The Annapurna circuit takes 3-4 weeks and is 300km long - a real challenge in a beautiful setting. The Royal Trek in the Pokhara valley is a popular lower altitude trek.Annapurna Sanctuary Trek takes 10 days with a maximum altitude of 4100m and akes in the Annapurna base camp in a dramatic amphitheatr of glistening peaks.Avoid monsoon oct-nov and winter.
Whitewater Rafting
Ride the Kornali river fro 1 week for a thrilling ride June to August . Sun Kosi river - the River of Gold -a 6-10 day ride down 275km of class 2 and 5 rapids.
Everest Trekking and Base Camp
The classic and strenuous base camp route takes 12 days at starts after a flogth from Kathmandu to Lukla. A high altitude trek - you need to be fit!Teahouse trek from Lukla to the sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar and the Thangboche Monastery from her there are fantastic views inclding Everest.

Nepal and the UK have have had a mixed relationship but they are on good terms and Nepalese men serve in the British army as the Gurkhas. Buddism and Hinduism are very closely linked in Nepal
