Norway Fjords voyage on the HurtigrutenThe Norwegain Fjords can be explored with Hurtigruten or Express Route is a coastal ferry service which covers the Coast of Norway. It has been described as the Worlds most beautiful sea voyage as the Norwegian coastline has spectacular fjord scenery where dramatic cliffs plunge straight into the sea. In summer the midnight sun keeps the nights light and above the arctic circle the sun will not set. In the darker months the Aurora Borealis or Northern lights can be seen when the solar wind allows.

The 11 day round trip starts in Bergen from there you will visit::

  • UNESCO site of the spectacular Geirangerfjord with 800m high cliffs and spectacular waterfalls.
  • Next Trondheim with Nidaros cathedral which dates from 1070.
  • Continue hopping along the coast to small ports and towns. Passing into the Arctic circle you'll visit the Lofoten Islands with its quaint wooden fishing villages.
  • Tromso the most northerly city in the world Tromso. Half the year in darkness and half the year in sunlight a truly unique place.
  • Onto the North Cape Europes most Northerly point. exursions visit the cliffs.
  • Kirkenes is the turning point before heading south to Hammerfest.
  • Sail back past the Lofoten Islands,Arctic Circle,Trondheim and finally Bergen.
  • Excursions in summer and winter take you ashore. Dogsledding and snowmobiling in winter and the Geirangerfjord and rib boat rides in the summer are just examples.

    Plentiful wildlife can be seen ;sea eagles,whales,seals and birds.
